we left charlottetown at 4am to get the first ferry, and travel to cape breton for gobblefest on thanksgiving weekend 1999.

we picked up brendan gillis (and his acoustic guitar), then headed for baddeck to pick up my brother iain.

when we got to sydney, we were about 2 hours early and a little tired. we unpacked our stuff at brendan's parents' house, and got ready for the show.

when we got to centre 200 for the show, there were a few technical difficulties. the show was supposed to start in about twenty minutes, and nothing was ready. we were the second band, but we didn't get to go on until two hours after the show was supposed to start. our set was cut short because of time restrictions, and we didn't get to do our hit songs, "i wish you were mary" or "beefchowmein."

vince was happy when the show was over. we ate dinner at the gillis', visited ryan and boyd macneil, then took a long overdue nap.
